Tucker Dee Jones...my oh my.
Words can never and will never do this boy justice.
At the now ripe age of FOUR... he's already busting at the seams with personality and nuttiness- I can hardly wait (and am maybe a little afraid) to see what is to come with him!
Tucker is smart, easy going, but oh so particular.
He is a pack rat of all pack rats.
Hoarder might be the better term.
He literally saves everything- and I have to hide throwing anything away (even wrappers most of the time).
Tucker loves to call other kids "dude," and shadows Jack and any of his friends like he's one of the big boys.
Tucker is cautious, and hates feeling out of control. Even going down a slide is living on the wild side for Tucker- yet he will charge you with any and every sword under the sun until he draws blood.
Tucker actually eats (unlike his older brother), and would eat himself into a sugar coma of any form of candy or sweet if I'd let him.
Tucker is intense.
Tucker is hilarious.
Lovable, beatable.... that's Tucker!
HAHA!
As we do with birthdays, Tucker's celebration lasted for about 700 days.
First, we got to make him a poster for school- which was the most darling and precious experience ever. He's so used to Jack getting so much attention- he was so thrilled to be the spotlight of something. He helped with every last detail of this masterpiece.
Leading up to his birthday, we were able to celebrate first with the Jones family at a combined party with McKay.
We had pinatas and pizza at the park, and it was a chilly springtime blast!
Tucker was a little adamant about hitting his precious Darth Vader pinata, but finally he got the hang of things and beat the shiz out of that thing.
Jack took out an alarming amount of aggression on the pinata.
The anticipation for the candy was almost too much for all of these cousins!
They scored!
Present time was the best at this party.
Tucker was priceless.
His reactions were hilarious and he was out of his mind excited about EVERYTHING.
Man, I love this about my Tuck.
So fun to give things to!
2 days before Tucker's birthday, I visited his class with his poster and treats.
When I got there, I found him like this-- hello Mr. Police Man!
My kids and costumes... it's never ending!
King of the Day... so proud.
The next night we colored our Easter eggs and invited the Ross family over to join us. Because they would be out of town then next day for Tuck's birthday and official party, we had a small celebration with them this night.
Have I told you?
Tucker's "wife" "girlfriend" "husband" "sugar mama" is Kate.
He adores her.
Like deeply ADORES her.
So, it was sweet that they came- and they had a fun "double-jointed-thumbs club moment.
Lucky Tucker to have such darling cousins.
Oh, and that special swimsuit he's wearing?
That was their gift.
You'll see that crop up multiple times from here on out in the birthday celebrating.
Tucker harnessed his excitement that night, and somehow got to bed-- sleeping in his full swimsuit, of course.
The next morning- he was rarrrrrring to go!!!
You'll be happy to see that his awesome reactions continued and did not disappoint!
Everyone needs a Darth Vader snuggie, right?
This kid made a haul!!!
Super Hero Legos, Star Wars Legos, Lightsaber, Snuggie, Hi Ho Cherry O, Minecraft, Scooby Doo Lego, R2D2 Model, Tin Can Cable Car, Lego City, Jersey Clothes, Lego Luke Skywalker Watch,......etc....etc....
Woah.
Maybe the best part of Tuck's birthday was the fact that it fell on a Saturday.
It's a good thing, because it took us 4 years to open all of his presents.
Thankfully, he had lots of time to play all day with them.
We met up with the Griffins and my mom and dad at Chick Fil A for some dinner, and then came back to our place for the rest of Tucker's birthday.
For his party, he requested that we have a Lego building contest.
This is humorous, because aside from my little family- no one has a clue how to play with Legos- but, bless their hearts, they obliged.
We drew names to put us in partners.
Each partnership had 10 minutes in the Lego room to build something for Tucker (the judge).
The winners were...
Randy and Grandpa Curt?!?!?
HAHAHAHA!
A real work of art.
Next, we had cake and presents- and Tucker was such a happy birthday boy.
Nothing is worse than a rotten birthday kid- and he was nothing but pleasant!
Tucker has a special place for all of his aunts/uncles, cousins and his grandparents.
He is the most loyal little bugger you'll ever meet, and would kill for his peeps!
While he can be a handful, the happiness, laughter, excitement, and joy this little mug brings me far outweighs anything else. You really can't help but adore Tucker. Ask anyone.
And, trust me.
You will NEVER find a more entertaining human on this planet.
How lucky I have been the past couple of years to have my one-on-one time with my buddy when Jack as at school and he is still at home.
I cherish it, just like I cherish him-- and those dimples. Man, I love those dimples!
Happy 4th Tuck man!
